From an early age, I knew I wanted to become a surgeon. The ability to create immediate, positive change in someone’s life during their most vulnerable moments resonated deeply with me. Surgery was the perfect fit—it allowed me to work with my hands and witness transformative results firsthand.

However, choosing the right surgical field was crucial. That’s where urology entered the picture. Shockingly, only 10% of urologists are female. Yet, women face unique urinary and vaginal health challenges. Where are their advocates? Wouldn’t they prefer a female physician who understands their experiences and genuinely wants to help?

With my mother’s “take no nonsense” attitude instilled in me, I was determined to break into this male-dominated field. Despite numerous challenges, every hurdle was worth it for the betterment of my patients’ lives.

As a board-certified urologist, I’m intimately familiar with the pelvic region, including the vagina and vulva. I perform procedures and treat conditions in these areas daily, understanding their anatomy, function, and the potential impact of surgical interventions.
